Shopware is a German innovative online shopping-cart-system by Shopware AG (Is one of the most successful manufacturers of shopping cart software and convinces with a multiple award-winning products, comprehensive service, customized shop solutions and customer proximity) which is on the market from the year 2000 , licensed under AGPL3 in August 2012. This platform is suitable to develop user-friendly and efficient online shops.

Shopware is a powerful system with a wide range of available features that you can make the most out of this diversity.

How to install Shopware

This section discusses how to install the Shopware software to setup your shop online.

Download Shopware
Download latest version of Shopware from official website, refer the path below. Extract the package of the Shopware in to the root directory and go to browser.

Running the Setup Wizard
The setup wizard is a multi-page interface that enables the user to go back and forward one page at a time. You cannot skip pages in-between, and you must fill-up all required information on each page before proceed to the next page.

If errors occurs at any step, you can run the installer again or you can return to the previous page to fix errors on that page.

Access the website folder like http://Host-or-IP>/path-to-Shopware-root/, you will see the set up screen like below and follow the steps.

 

Step 1 : Initial page

In the initial step, you can choose the language(EN or DE) you wish to use during the installation process and on later step, you will be able to configure the shop’s language.

Step 2 : Check system requirements

To install the software you have to meet the system requirement specified by Shopware. The installer will automatically check your system configuration to determine if it meets all of Shopware’s requirements and recommendations.

Step 3 : Accept license agreement

To go forward you have to accept the Shopware’s license agreement. Here you can read Shopware’s license.

Step 4 : Database setup

You have to create an empty database and you will be asked to provide your database’s access details to verify and install Shopware.

Step 5 : Database import

After verifying the database credentials, the installer will import the core Shopware database in this step.

Step 6 : Choose Shopware’s license

Once the database has been successfully created, in this step you have to select the license which you will be using with your Shopware installation. If unsure, use the default value.

Step 7 : Shop configuration

This is the last step and the installer will be asked you to configure your default shop settings such as language, currency and user account.

At this step you will finished the installation process and you can access the frontend or the backend and start using your shop. If opening the backend for the first time, the First Run Wizard will appear to guide you through the first configuration steps.
